Canada Post strike: What members need to know

On September 25, Canada Post went on strike and suspended operations. Mail services have partially resumed but the strike is still ongoing.

We’ve started mailing correspondence but there may be delays. To avoid this, we encourage you to send and receive pension information through your Online Services account.

Here’s how to access your key documents and payments during the strike:

Register for Online Services

If you haven’t already, please register for Online Services using a personal (non-work) email. With Online Services, you can send and receive documents securely. You can even complete retirement forms online.

To register, contact us at 204.946.3200 or askus@cssb.mb.ca to request your registration key.

Pension cheques

We encourage retired members to sign up for direct deposit. This allows us to send your pension payment quickly and easily. Here’s how to sign up for direct deposit.

If you haven’t signed up for direct deposit, pension cheques will now be mailed but there may be delays due to the rotating strike.

Best practices

  • To send us payments, use e-Transfer instead of mailing cheques.
  • Use your Online Services account, not email, to send documents and forms electronically.
  • If you recently mailed something to CSSB, contact us to make sure we received it. If not, we’ll help you find another way to send it.
  • You can drop off documents directly at our office.
