Pension Documents

Important note: If mail is returned from the last known address of the pension recipient, the CSSB will make reasonable attempts to contact the recipient and update the information. Upon the discretion of the CSSB, further pension payments may cease until contact is made with the pension recipient.

Pension payments are deposited the second last business day of the month. Changes to direct deposit information must be submitted to the Board in writing at least a few weeks in advance.

To change your direct deposit we require a voided cheque or a direct deposit form from your financial institution that MUST be signed and dated. We will not make the change without the member’s signature. Please make sure to include your pension PIN number or your SIN with your signature.

The cheque image below shows where to get the proper banking information from your cheque.

NR4 form

The CSSB distributes NR4’s to pension recipients in late January/early February for the prior tax year. Pension recipients can receive their NR4 in one of two ways:

  1. If registered for the CSSB Online Services, you will receive an email notification when your NR4 is available in your Online Services account. Pensioners who use this option will generally be able to access their NR4 earlier than those who receive them by mail, and can access copies at their convenience. To view and print the statement, sign in and select Retrieve NR4 from your list of options. Select the year of the NR4 you’d like to retrieve and it will be delivered to your Inbox (top left corner of screen under Document Centre). The NR4 will show up as Unread. Upon selecting the NR4, your computer may ask whether you want to Open or Save the document. Opening it will allow you to view and print it without taking up space on your computer’s memory. Once a document is opened, its status will change to Read and will remain in your Inbox until you decide to delete it.
    • If you retrieve your NR4, we will not mail you a copy.
    • If you elect not to retrieve your NR4, it will be mailed by the end of February.
  2. For those not registered for the CSSB Online Services, NR4’s will be mailed by the end of February. If you are registered for the CSSB Online Services, you will receive an email notification when your annual NR4 is ready. If you retrieve your NR4, we will not mail you a copy. Pensioners who use this option will generally be able to access their NR4 earlier than those who receive them by mail and can access copies at their convenience.

Important note: If mail is returned from the last known address of the pension recipient, the CSSB will make reasonable attempts to contact the recipient and update the information. Upon the discretion of the CSSB, further pension payments may cease until contact is made with the pension recipient.
