CSSB Website Relaunched
Welcome to the new and improved CSSB Website! The website has been redesigned to improve user-friendliness and appeal. Along with the changed design and layout, many new pages have been added to assist members in finding relevant information and answering some frequently asked questions. In addition, the redesigned website is mobile-device friendly.
CSSB 2014 Annual Report is now available!
The 2014 CSSB Annual Report is now available in the Publications section.
2014 CSSB T4As Available Online
For pension recipients who have registered for the CSSB’s Online Services, your 2014 T4A is now available to download or print.
Complete Your Retirement Forms Online
Eligible employees may now complete their retirement forms online when signed into their CSSB Online Services account. This feature gives employees the option of printing their completed forms for signature and submission to the CSSB office, or having us print the completed forms and mailing them to the member for signature and submission. Automatic edits in the online process help reduce potential problems and errors. Employees are welcome to contact the CSSB office for assistance completing their forms, or with any questions they may have.
Actuarial Report as of December 31, 2013 Is Now Available
The Actuarial Report on The Civil Service Superannuation Fund as at December 31, 2013 is now available for viewing in the Publications section.
July Pension Payments Include 2014 Cost-of-Living Increase
For eligible pension recipients, the July 2014 pension payment will include a 0.83% Cost-of-Living increase. This increase is equal to 2/3 of the increase in the Canadian Consumer Price Index for 2013. A history of CSSB COLA percentages since 1977 can be found here.

Annual Employee Pension Statements
The 2013 Annual Employee Pension Statements are now available through our Online Services. To access Online Services, click here. In order to receive an Annual Statement, an employee must have accrued some pensionable service during 2013 and be an active member of the Fund as at December 31, 2013. Answers to many of the more common questions regarding the Annual Employee Pension Statements can be found here

Automatic Distribution of Paper Annual Employee Pension Statements Being Discontinued
Members who are employees of the Manitoba Civil Service will receive a paper copy of their 2012 Annual Statements or can access these statements through our Online Services. Paper copies will no longer be automatically distributed to employees of other employers participating in the Fund. Starting in 2014, automatic distribution of paper copies of the Annual Statements will be discontinued for all employees. Annual Statements will be provided through our Online Services. Members who wish to receive a paper copy of their 2012 statement may contact the Board office to request that one be mailed to them.

CSSB Board Election Results
The election of employee representatives to the CSSB took place this past fall with ballots counted last week. We are pleased to announce that Mr. Ray Erb, Ms Monica Girouard, and Mr. Doug Troke have been elected to three-year terms effective January 1, 2013. In addition, Mr. Paul Desorcy has been elected as the Manitoba Hydro Group employee representative. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to outgoing representatives Mr. Stephen Watson and Ms Denise Hickson (Manitoba Hydro Group) for their efforts and contributions as Board and Committee members.
New and Improved Website
Welcome to the new CSSB website! As you can see, we have made a few changes. These include moving the link to our Online Services to the right side of the page and an improved What’s New section where articles of interest are searchable by category or date. These changes have not only improved the accessibility of the information found within our web pages but also made the navigation between sections of our website simpler. If you have any comments or suggestions about our new design, please contact us. All ideas/comments are welcomed.
CSSB Election Update
The deadline has now passed for the receipt of eligible ballots for the Election of Employee Representatives to the CSSB. Any ballots received after October 30, 2012 will not be verified and will remain unopened. Starting on November 30, 2012, all eligible ballots will be opened and counted with the results announced shortly after.
CSSB Election
Eligible employees are now receiving their Elector Packages for the Election of Employee Representatives to the CSSB. To be eligible, employees must have been a member of the Fund on the last pay period in 2011 and still be active an member. If you are an eligible employee and have not received your Elector Package, please contact the CSSB by phone at 1-204-946-3222 or email at askus@cssb.mb.ca. The Board must receive completed ballots by the last workday of October 2012 in order to be counted.
Online Services Expanded To Include Seminar Registration
Employees who would like to register for one of the Civil Service Superannuation Board’s Pre-Retirement Seminars may now do so through our Online Services. Once signed on to Online Services, select Register for Group Seminars from the User Dashboard or from the menu on the left hand side of the screen. The online registration feature lets you see which seminars are available, the number of seats remaining, and links you to a map of the seminar location. This feature also lets you cancel your registration if your plans change. At this point the online seminar registration feature is only available to employees and members with deferred pensions who are registered for our Online Services. If you’d like to register for Online Services, you can do so by clicking here. If you prefer not to register for a seminar online, you can still register by contacting our office at 204-946-3200.
